Dino

Age: 10 weeks (already neutered)
Sex: male
Info: My name is Dino and I am a very cute energetic and charismatic kitten. I love playing with people and with other cats I do not however like dogs and will usually just sit and stare at them with a scowl on my face if the dogs are cat friendly I will tolerate them but they aren’t my favourite yet. Being a little boy I love to get in lots of trouble by trying to get into closets knocking things off the coffee table and running around like a maniac usually at 10 PM. I Canby and I am a lot of the time however very cuddly and affectionate and will sit with you as you watch TV. I would like a home with other cats and preferably no dogs.

I am on a raw food diet with my foster mom right now and love it a lot, it is very healthy and will prevent me from having any kidney issues or urinary issues later on in life.

Location: Foster home.

BEFORE YOU GET OFFENDED when someone suggests you neuter your pet please read this.

1. Statistically for every kitten sold on Facebook for a tenner and actually neutered, another one won't be.

2. Every rescue is dependant on volunteers. Volunteers who lose family time, money, sleep, weekends and evenings caring for and fundraising to ensure unwanted cats get the correct care.

3.Animals have no voice.. So when somebody speaks on their behalf stop getting upset.

4.Uneutered Male cats will wander in search of females. They will fight ferociously and cause terrible injury to other males in the process causing sepsis. And dreadful life threatening diseases.

5. Every litter of kittens born in your home and sold adds to the problem by stopping a rescue cat being adopted.

6. Rescues are full to capacity with cats which have been bought on a whim of Facebook and surrendered or abandoned due to boredom or Inability to afford vet bills, Neuter, Vaccs, Food, Flea and worm treatment

7. Each rescue has a waiting list. They spend literally thousands of dollars a year on vet treatment. Food, litter. Flea and worm treatment, Electricity, gas. These are just the basics.

8. Behind the scenes volunteers nurse, clean out several times a day. Fundraise constantly. Worry about cats who have been surrendered and are traumatised by being torn from its surroundings and carry the guilt of the decisions they have to make.

9. Rescues have volunteers who drive for miles doing home checks. Trapping stray cats, picking up unwanted cats and spend hours on the phone trying to find spaces and homes for unwanted pets.

10. Volunteers spend their free time and energy picking up the pieces from people who allow cats to have kittens and refuse to neuter.

Please don’t be offended when someone asks are you getting your pet neutered - rescues see the consequences of these actions every day 365 days a year and are simply giving a voice to the vulnerable creatures so casually given away or sold for money.

All 3 of our cats came from your rescue and their love has gotten my family through this pandemic. Please get your pets spayed and neutered 😻

My house panther was a rescue from Your organization. He is so freaking loved it’s unreal. He’s the best kitty I’ve ever had and he is safe and happy in our home, rather than in the bush where he was rescued as a kitten.

Spay and Neuter and keep your kitties inside ❤

Esper adopted from Nelson SPCA 6 months ago

And then on top of everything rescuers and volunteers do, they also have to deal with people who are ‘offended’. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Please be responsible and neuter/spay your cat(s) 💕

They should make it illegal to have unfixed cats unless you are a licensed breeder

You won't get any flack from me. I totally agree. I actually put online, last night, that there should be a law set in place, that every cat/dog should be neutered/spayed, and all breeders be halted, until we get things under control. You do not need to spend thousands to get a best friend, and if for status purposes, they are choosing a friend for wrong reason.

We bought our kitten from a home because we just couldn't seem to get picked for adoption. We knew that he would cost us over a $1,000 after all the shots and neutering , micro chip etc was done, plus the cat furniture was quite a lot, but we didn't care. Love him to bits. Had a cat but she passed away and the void could only be filled with another 🐈.

My old community had an indoor bylaw for cats. Beautiful thing, prevents death by car or cruelty, poisoning, dog. Licencing for unaltered $200+ altered, $5. If your cat was caught you have to pay an exorbitant amount to get it back, or it goes altered to a new family who will take care of it properly. In city or town limits they should be contained for their own safety and it should be law.

Thank you! I’m an Anthrozoo and look at things like overpopulation from a societal perspective. Spaying and neutering cats is so important. In dogs it it is more complicated.

Am so sorry Kitties, life is not fair, humans are horrible

You do amazing work, and I’m so grateful for you. We love our boys we adopted through you.

It doesn't help when some Vets make you wait till the kitten is 7-9 months old to be spayed or neutered. I had never heard of waiting that long before.

Thank you for your honesty and hard work and love for animals. Will only ever rescue💓

He looks like my Mister did when I rescue him in 2017. He had a big head, but it was actually his body that had withered away to almost nothing. I hope they get this guy a good home.❤

Cause Science is our friend: Spaying and neutering recommendations for cats (2015): any time after 6 WEEKS. Earlier is usually better. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6070019/ Spaying and neutering recommendations for dogs (2020): it’s complicated. www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fvets.2020.00388/full The integrated view of all of it: Leaving dogs intact is problematic in certain socio-political contexts. This is why the southern US has huge issues, but northern cities don’t. In other contexts it can lead to healthier dogs in complex ways that we may not consider. I’m an Anthrozoo - if you are interested in this subject let me know.

Is this a thing? People getting offended?

💜

Our cat rescue spends $10k a month (on average) just on vet bills

Elizabeth Charpentier

Please keep sharing, people don't get it and is unacceptable.

Thank you

You guys are doing great work! and we all love you guys for that!

Bruce
Age: 5
Sex: male

Info: This chatty boy is five years old. He loves to tell you that he is starving and withering away before your eyes. He became morbidly obese while free-feeding and therefore requires a feeding schedule. Don't leave any food out because Bruce the Juice will help himself! To this day, the funniest thing I ever saw was Bruce turn back to look at me with an entire carrot muffins in his mouth.

Bruce is a very affectionate cat. He doesn't like to be picked up, but will crawl into your lap to purr away. He loves to sleep on your chest or beside your head on your pillow.
Bruce is dog savvy because he grew up around two big dogs.
He does however, need to be in a home where is he the only cat.

HELP!

There has been alot going on with all the flooding and we have seen an influx of surrenders, abandoned or lost cats. We have no room to help anymore cats in need unless we get more fosters.

We are close to having to close our doors to cats un need and have already had to turn away some due to space restrictions as we do not have a shelter.

PetSmart Charities has generously donated $10,000 to keep us going with food and vet bills but we need the communities help to safely house them.

We need fosters who can drive to get cats into our vet and pickup supplies, can give medication if needed, is home for the holidays and has a separate space from other pets (such as spare room, bathroom, laundry room etc)

Pictured below is a sweet mother cat with her 6 babies found in the pouring rain, to help more like her we need your help!

I am a reg. Vet tech who has had countless orphaned babies and sometimes with moms. I have a spare bedroom that is perfect for moms with kittens. I would be happy to foster, however at the moment I myself am on evacuation alert out here on the far north side of Hatzic Lake. After this is done (hopefully the end of the week?) please feel free to contact me! I work at Boundary Bay Vet specialists. Here is a video of the last litter I had last year here. 💕 (if I’m not evacuated I can help with transport this week as well)

I just picked up a litter of kittens that I'm fostering today. But I have a second spare room, so could take more if you are in need. I can also transport. I live near the airport. Let me know.

Hi! I put in a foster application yesterday. I have a spare room and happy to help. I received an email back in regards to an interview but heard nothing back.

How do I get approved to foster? I am available after Dec 14th if that is any help. There is always someone at home amd we are an animal loving family, currently with no animals. We have lots of space to have separate areas of varying sizes

Local community, please help out with fostering and transport!

I have a separate spare room I could foster one or two kittens. I have 2 cats myself but they don’t go in my spare room at all. And rest of my home is cat/kitten proof. Or I could foster one older cat. I’d take them all if I could 😪

I have been approved as a foster (adopted my last one in March) I can free up a room to take in more - it is a good size room, so would fit Mom and kittens. You can PM me.

Do the cats have to have a seperate area? I have a cat that is indoor that I adopted from you. I don't have a specific room but may be able to help otherwise

I’ll take the money and babies.

I can help to foster a cat! I am in Chilliwack though, is there a society here I should connect with?

I have Applied as a foster recently but was rejected due to my arm not working very well. But if there is a desperate situation, which I believe there is now I will be happy to foster a cat. Or I can do driving as well. I’m on the Mission side

I would be more than willing help to take in 1 or 2 cats, possibly more depending on the situation. Is there any way I’d be able to foster without a car? I can get rides to/from the vet from family, or take a cab (at my own expense of course) if necessary. I have a separate room (my bathroom) to keep them apart from my 2 cats. Just thought to ask incase this is something that’s flexible. Please let me know if I can help in any way!🙏🏻

Can you get government aid to set up temporary shelters. What does the minister of agriculture say. I want to help where I can. This should be brought up!

Shelley Bosco Danviejoy Martinez CTRS Helped PURS this summer taking three rescue kittens on one trip and then taking another rescue mom and her 3 kittens on another drive. they do you a 36 hour return trip up north to do this and did it twice for Northern Animal Rescue Alliance and at PURS we were invited to take rescues. so spread the word spread, the love help if you can, it’s a very rewarding and beautiful thing to do 🐾💕

Hi Cat Therapy and Rescue Society . I’ve been approved to foster as of mid October, my coordinator is Joy. I can start asap.

Adorable is an understatement

I live in Langley. We have 5 people in a 3 bedroom house and two kitties already. Have been thinking about adding another kitty to our house. We do have a bathroom we could isolate kitties in for a brief period - but it wouldn’t be long term. Have been wanting to foster but without a spare room I haven’t applied. Although if you are super desperate we can make room for a kitty or two 🙂 our cats are up to date 10F and 1.5M Ember the timid senior is on the left and Erik the playful teenager? Is on the right. Erik would love a buddy. We have been considering a buddy for Erik for a while I did send in an application

I have a full basement with 2 bedrooms that aren't used. We would be happy to foster a couple mommas with babies. We are in enderby though 😔

Our family would take a pair of kittens to add to our home

Posted in fv flood help as we have a few hundred people wanting to help and foster 🥰

Im in chilliwack but i can help!!!

I think my coworker Kevin found these kittens! 😍🐱🐈 bless you guys for all of your amazing work

I hope people will step up <3 its a great reason

I can take them to foster and find homes

I am interested for more info, however am looking to adopt rather than foster. Pls pm me.

ADOPTION BY DONATION
Frejya
Age: young adult
Sex: female

Info: Came into the rescue with her kittens which have all been adopted. Frejya is fearful in nature but has come around quite well with time. Frejya is drawn to other cats and is best suited for a home with another confident, friendly kitty to befriend and engage with. She enjoys interactive playtime and general presence of the people she has learned to trust but isn’t one to seek out physical attention, if your looking for a cuddly cat to pet, Frejya isn’t for you. Frejya has had negative experiences with handling in the past, including very negative experiences with carriers and interactions at the vet, as well as startle responses to some loud sounds. Medications may assist with her anxiety in these situations in the future. She is not a fan of dogs or young children so a quiet home with another cat is best.

Frejya has been following a behavioural training plan to help build trust with her foster mom and to help build her confidence, she will now give eye contact, gives slow blinks and approaches her foster mom for yummy treats. A behavioural consultation & training plan is included with her adoption to ensure her continuous growth and an easier transition to her new, forever home.

If you have the patience, I really can't recommend it enough to take a chance on shy kitties. Some of my most loving kitties started out as terrified kittens, angry moms, or shy adults. You have to be willing to accept that kitty might never fully trust you, but there is very little so rewarding as earning a scared kitty's trust. ❤️

Tempting companion for my tuxedo Buffy who I adopted from CTRS, also as a recent mama cat.
